R20 signs the declaration of the International Conference on Climate Adaptation

The International Conference on Climate Adaptation, held in the island of Reunion from October 5th-6th, gathered many regional organizations around the topic of location-specific adaptation strategies.

In his opening statement, Didier Robert, president of the Regional Council of Reunion Island, a leading member of R20, highlighted the work of the island for a paradigm shift aligning ecology and economy and urged to finance and implement projects in the field of renewable energies, sustainable mobility and the protection of biological diversity.

The Conference concluded on Friday the 6th with R20 president, Magnus Berntsson, Reunion’s regional Council president, Didier Robert, nrg4SD co-president, Cecilia Alvarado, The Climate Group president, Helen Clarkson and ORU-Fogar secretary general, Carles Llorens, signing the declaration of the International Conference on Climate Adaptation.
